Cave Michelangelo Group, situated in the city of Carrara, created the "Studi D'Arte Cave Michelangelo" project, a centre for the professional training of young sculptors.
The work, one of Michelangelo's earliest, caused much controversy. It was originally commissioned by Cardinal Riario and was inspired by a description of a lost bronze sculpture by the ancient sculptor Praxiteles. But when Riario saw the finished piece he found it inappropriate and rejected it.
A founder of the High Italian Renaissance style, Michelangelo (di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni) created some of the most influential works in the history of Western art: the marble statues of David (1504) and The Pietà (ca. 1498-1499), as well as the Sistine Chapel frescos in the Vatican, Rome, depicting Genesis (such as in The Creation of Adam (1510)) and the Last Judgment.

Michelangelo Buonarroti’s Tomb is the work of Vasari (1570). The tomb is located at the beginning of the right nave of the church of Santa Croce, as soon as you cross the main door of the Basilica.
